By: Prince Kweku Boateng (AUCC L100)
Multiple-award-winning investigative journalist and editor-in-chief of The Fourth Estate Manasseh Awuni, has urged student journalists at the African University College of Communications to dare to be different in their chosen career.
Mr. Awuni was speaking to L200 students on how to “stand out as an investigative journalist” when he visited AUCC on Tuesday February 14, 2023 to speak at Encounter, a program organized by the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing.
Mr. Awuni shared three core principles he said have kept him in the field for the ten years since he started investigative journalism: competence, courage, and character.
He urged students who would choose investigative journalism as a career to be straight, anticipate, and work with clean hearts and a right conscience.
He proposed that an Investigative Journalism Club be formed on campus to serve as a forum for students to interact with experienced investigative journalists, adding that he will be happy to come around and interact with students in that club.
Investigative Journalism in Africa, the fourth book by Awuni, is due out March 2023.
Well done Prince.
Well done Nana for organizing such a wonderful program, please we need more of these

Initially I have no interest in journalism, but after I listened to Manasseh Azure Awuni’s lectures, I’m beginning to develop an interest in journalism, thanks to Nana S. Achampomg and Fayaa
